The Data Centre framework Data centre management and operations is playing an important role in many organizations. Valuable downtime and efficiency are top priorities and hence being able to rely on educated staff becomes a key factor for data centre managers all over the world.
CDCP EPI has developed a Data Centre education framework that starts with the fundamental vocabulary and the basics of all equipment and facility requiredin building and maintaining a hi-availability data centre. It also teaches participants on how toimprove the data centre key aspects such as power, cooling, security, fire suppression, cabling andsafety issues.
 CDCS For individuals who have the need to further specialize, the next level CDCS focuses on the knowledge and criteria to enable the participant to review and make improvements on existing data centre facilities as well as to review and decide the correct implementation of new data centre facilities. This level builds on top of the knowledge acquired in CDCP hence it is a required to be a certified data centre professionals in good standing in order to follow this course.
CDCE Individuals that possess the full technical knowledge and are intimately going to be involved in data centre projects are encouraged to attend the top level of expertise. CDCE focuses on data centre project management in preparing the participant to manage and run a data centre project which requires scoping, planning, designing, implementing, retiring or movingmission critical data centre up to the (Tier) level as required. CDCS certification is a requirement to attend this level.
CDFOM
For individuals who do not have core design concerns but need to know how the daily centre operations are taken care of, are challenged to attend CDFOM. This course focuses on how to set-up an effective and efficient operations management team as well as how to manage and overcome challenges of data centre daily operations in an effective way. Participants will gain knowledge on key subjects such as capacity planning, green initiatives and commission/de-commission of equipment. Furthermore a lot of attention is given on compliance to safety and security standards, vendor and people management, floor management, equipment maintenance regime and handling incident/crisis management.
No requirements exist although having attended CDCP is an advantage. |
